TRG's RappelMaster™ is used by many Foreign and US SWAT Teams, Military units, Search and Rescue Teams, Spelunkers, Climbers, and Window Washers.
TRG's RappelMaster™ body and handle are machined (7075-T651) aluminum
with a tensile strength of 83,000psi and anodized Mil-spec black. All pins are (303) machined stainless steel with a tensile strength
of 125,000psi.
The RappelMaster is 10.5” long and 1” thick, and 4" at its widest. Each unit weighs 24 oz and test results from the University of Texas
(Arlington) have determined that the Descender is rated at 5 times the strength
of current 11 mm rope, or nearly 25,000 lb.
The design allows 9.5mm, 10mm, 10.5 mm and 11mm dynamic and static rope.
There are numerous friction settings for different weights and rappel speeds.
The RappelMaster™ allows one hand to control the rate of descent with no requirement for a break hand or for tying off when stopped.
There are 2 ways to stop. Squeeze the handle closed or let go! Go as fast as you want and let go! You will stop! It will not damage the rope!
In tests against all other devices, the results were that there was no other rappelling device that is safer or easier on your ropes.
